Doug Drown Competes in Firecracker 100 at Lernerville
(June 26, 2022) The #12 team made their way to the storied Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania from June 23-25 for the 16th edition of the 'Firecracker 100.' The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned the lucrative mega-event for the very first time and 54 competitors piled into the pit area at the Keystone State speedplant to do battle in the three day extravaganza. On Thursday night in a $6,000 to win preliminary event, Doug Drown ran sixth in his heat race and eleventh in his B-Main. In a similar $6,000 to win show on Friday evening, Doug placed sixth in his heat race and fifth in his B-Main.

When Saturday rolled around at Lernerville Speedway, a huge crowd assembled to witness who would go home with the whopping $50,000 top prize in the 'Firecracker 100' grand finale. Doug ran fifth in both his heat race and his B-Main prior to finishing sixth in the 'Uncle Sam 30' for non-qualifiers. Unfortunately, the Wooster, Ohio ace was unable to transfer into any of the three features during his stint at Lernerville. Drown Enters Lucrative Eldora Million and Dirt Late Model Dream
(June 12, 2022) The most lucrative stretch of Super Late Model racing during the year took place from June 8-11 at the famed Eldora Speedway and Doug Drown was in the pit area at the Rossburg, Ohio facility to compete in both the 'Eldora Million' and the 'Dirt Late Model Dream.' Following a total washout on Wednesday night, the entire 'Eldora Million' extravaganza was held on Thursday at the 1/2-mile oval. During the course of the daytime preliminary event, which shelled out a $12,000 paycheck, Doug placed sixth in his stacked heat race and eighteenth in his B-Main. In the nightcap that paid a whopping $1,002,022 to the winner, Doug ran twelfth in his heat race and was unable to transfer into his consolation event.

When the weekend rolled around at the "Big E," all focus in the pit area and in our sport quickly turned to the annual running of the 'Dirt Late Model Dream.' In the $12,000 to win preliminary show on Friday evening, Doug finished tenth in his heat race and seventh in his B-Main. With a $128,000 top prize on the line on Saturday in the 'Dirt Late Model Dream,' Doug placed ninth in his heat race and sixteenth in his B-Main. Doug Drown Battles Lucas Oil Foes During Historic 100 Weekend
(June 5, 2022) Doug Drown Racing (DDR) kicked off a busy month of June at the sprawling West Virginia Motor Speedway, as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned the 'Historic 100' at the Mineral Wells, West Virginia speedplant. On Friday night, June 3 in the $15,000 to win opener, Doug Drown placed fifth in both his heat race and his B-Main to earn the inside of the eleventh row for the start of the 30-lap feature event. At the end of the contest, Doug was credited with a twentieth place showing on the monster 5/8-mile oval.

At WVMS on Saturday evening, June 4 in the weekend finale, which boasted a whopping $50,000 top prize, Doug grabbed the third transfer spot through his stacked heat race and later rolled off from the outside of the sixth row in the 50-lapper. The Wooster, Ohio ace was ultimately paid for a twenty-first place effort in the final event of the weekend. Drown Makes 2022 Season Debut in Buckeye State Doubleheader
(May 15, 2022) The Doug Drown Racing (DDR) team finally made their 2022 season debut over the May 13-14 weekend at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio and Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio. On Friday night in a $1,200 to win weekly Super Late Model program at Attica, Doug Drown lifted the lid to his campaign by timing in fourth fastest overall during the qualifying session before running second in his heat race. Doug then climbed five spots in the headliner to land on the podium in third behind only victor Ryan Missler and runner-up Devin Shiels!

At Wayne County Speedway on Saturday evening, the ULMS Series roared into the Buckeye State speedplant to preside over a $3,500 to win showdown. Doug won his heat race in preliminary action and later rolled off from the outside of the front row in the 30-lap feature. Unfortunately, the Wooster, Ohio native suffered handling woes during the race and retired early in the fifteenth finishing position. Doug Drown Makes Last Minute Change; Winds Up at Wayne County
(September 26, 2021) Doug Drown and his Wooster, Ohio-based team made a last minute decision to travel to the nearby Wayne County Speedway on Saturday evening, September 25. A $1,500 top prize was up for grabs for the ground-pounding Super Late Models at the Orrville, Ohio speedplant. Doug stopped the clock fourth fastest overall during the qualifying session before placing second in his heat race. After drawing the pole position for the unsanctioned A-Main, Doug led early until a shock issue forced him to retire from the contest in the eighteenth finishing position. Drown Competes in September Shootout at Raceway 7
(September 12, 2021) Doug Drown Racing (DDR) made the trip to Raceway 7 in Conneaut, Ohio on Saturday, September 11 for the track's 'September Shootout' special. The unsanctioned Super Late Model contest drew an 18 car field to vie for the $5,000 winner's check. Doug Drown laid down the fastest lap in his group during the qualifying session before securing a victory in his heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the third row in the 40-lap feature, Doug was running at the back end of the top ten when he opted to pull off the racing surface and settle for a fourteenth place showing. (August 29, 2021) Doug Drown and his DDR team invaded the nearby Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio on Saturday evening, August 28. A weekly Super Late Model program was held last night at WCS and a $1,000 winner's check was up for grabs. Doug earned Fast Time honors during the qualifying session and later placed second in his heat race. The Wooster, Ohio ace then drove to a strong runner-up performance in the 25-lap contest to trail only victor Mitch Caskey. Drown Battles World of Outlaws Foes at Sharon Speedway
(August 22, 2021) Doug Drown Racing (DDR) ventured to Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio on Saturday evening, August 21, as the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series roared into town to preside over a $10,000 to win throwdown. Doug Drown laid down the tenth fastest lap in Group A during the qualifying session before finishing sixth in his heat race and fifth in the B-Main. After rolling off from the inside of the eleventh row in the 40-lap main event, Doug was unfortunately an early retiree in the contest and wound up being paid for a twenty-first place performance. Doug Drown Lands on Podium in Danny Gardner Memorial!
(August 15, 2021) Doug Drown, of Wooster, Ohio, pulled double duty on Saturday evening, August 14 at Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio. In his Super Late Model, Doug won his heat race, but was hampered in the $1,000 to win headliner when an oil line came off. He wound up pulling off the surface late in the 25-lapper and settling for a tenth place performance. Drown Forced to Scratch from Don & Hans Gross Memorial...
(August 8, 2021) Doug Drown Racing (DDR) made their way back to Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio on Saturday evening, August 7 for the annual running of the 'Don & Hans Gross Memorial.' The Renegades of Dirt tour sanctioned the single-day shootout for the Super Late Models, which boasted a $5,000 top prize. Doug Drown clicked off the fourth fastest lap overall during qualifying before placing third in the fast dash. Unfortunately, Doug suffered terminal problems in the dash and made the decision to scratch from the 40-lap headliner, which was ultimately won by Devin Moran. Doug Drown Rallies to Runner-Up at Wayne County Speedway!
(August 1, 2021) Doug Drown, of Wooster, Ohio, headed to Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio and Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio over the July 30-31 weekend to compete in a pair of weekly Super Late Model contests. On Friday night in a $1,200 to win show at Attica, Doug timed in second fastest in qualifying, won his heat race, and led the first seven circuits in the 25-lap feature event. Unfortunately, Doug was hit front behind by another competitor and suffered flat tire during the contest, which eventually dropped him to sixteenth in the final finishing order.

At Wayne County on Saturday evening in a $1,000 to win program, Doug earned Fast Time honors during the qualifying session before being involved in an heat race incident that relegated him to a ninth place prelim finish. "Hammer Down" was indeed hammer down during the A-Main; however, as he blasted past fifteen competitors en route to a stellar runner-up performance behind only race winner J.R. Gentry! Drown Competes in Jim Dunn Memorial at Muskingum County
(July 25, 2021) Doug Drown Racing (DDR) invaded Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, Ohio on Saturday evening, July 24. The annual running of the 'Jim Dunn Memorial' was held last night at MCS and the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series sanctioned the $10,000 to win throwdown. Doug Drown clicked off the sixth fastest lap in Group A during the qualifying session before running third in his loaded heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the fifth row and trying some new things on his one-race-old Longhorn mount, Doug slipped back in the 40-lap headliner and eventually retired in the seventeenth finishing position. Doug Drown Debuts New Longhorn to Top Ten in Birthday Race!
(July 18, 2021) Doug Drown and his team debuted a new Longhorn Chassis on Saturday night, July 17 at Oakshade Raceway in Wauseon, Ohio! The DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour rolled into town and a $10,000 top prize was up for grabs in the annual 'Birthday Race.' On a rough racing surface due to heavy overnight rain, Doug timed in eleventh fastest in Group A during the qualifying session before placing third in his loaded heat race. The Wooster, Ohio ace was then able to move past a handful of competitors in the 50-lapper to leave Oakshade with a solid tenth place performance. Drown Finishes Sixth in Atomic 100 Opener at Atomic Speedway
(June 27, 2021) Next up for Doug Drown Racing (DDR) was a visit to Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio on June 25-26 for the annual running of the 'Atomic 100,' which was sanctioned by the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series. On Friday night in the $4,000 to win weekend opener, Doug Drown ran second in his heat race before moving up a couple of spots during the 40-lapper en route to a strong sixth place feature showing behind only race winner Josh Rice, Devin Moran, Devin Gilpin, Tyler Carpenter, and Jared Hawkins. In Saturday's $12,000 to win grand finale, Doug grabbed the fourth transfer spot through his stacked heat race, but was an early retiree in the 60-lap headliner and was eventually paid for a twenty-first place effort. Doug Drown Defeats Foes at Attica and Wayne County!!
(June 6, 2021) Doug Drown Racing (DDR) debuted a Swartz racecar - and a new number - over the June 4-5 weekend and promptly put the new ride in victory lane on a couple of different occasions! On Friday night at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, Doug Drown won his heat race and later led from flag-to-flag in the headliner to capture the $1,200 winner's check for his first victory of the 2021 season over a top five that included runner-up Mike Bores, Devin Shiels, Matt Irey, and Rusty Schlenk.

At Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio on Saturday evening, Doug placed second in his heat race prior to nabbing the lead on the fourth circuit of the 25-lap feature. The Wooster, Ohio ace then held the point for the rest of the distance to pocket the $1,000 payday ahead of Mitch Caskey, JR Gentry, Cody Scott, and Ryan Markham.
