Drown Fourth in Midweek Atomic Special; Runner-Up at WCS!
(October 2, 2022) Doug Drown and his #12 team competed in a pair of special events from September 28-October 1 in the Buckeye State. On Wednesday night at Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio, Doug timed in sixth fastest overall during Castrol FloRacing Night in America Series qualifying before slipping to sixth in his loaded heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the ninth row in the $22,022 to win headliner, Doug made a sterling charge past fourteen competitors during the 50-lap affair to nab an impressive fourth place performance behind only victor Bobby Pierce, Devin Moran, and Brent Larson!

On Saturday evening at Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio, a $2,000 top prize was up for grabs in the unsanctioned 'Ohio Dirt Blowout.' Doug earned Fast Time honors during the qualifying session prior to placing second in his heat race. After starting the 25-lapper from the inside of the third row, Doug moved up to as high as second in the running order and threw a slider for the lead on the final circuit. Doug Drown Grabs Top Five in Marion Center Raceway Visit
(September 25, 2022) Doug Drown Racing (DDR) made a rare visit to Marion Center Raceway in Marion Center, Pennsylvania on Saturday evening, September 24. A solid 25 car Super Late Model field assembled in the Keystone State to compete for the $5,000 top prize. Doug Drown laid down the fourth quickest lap overall during the qualifying session, but later placed fifth in heat race action. The Wooster, Ohio ace then made a serious charge towards the front during the 35-lap feature to nab a solid fourth place showing behind only victor Matt Lux, Jon Lee, and Gregg Satterlee! Drown Debuts New Swartz Car to Hilltop Speedway Runner-Up!
(September 18, 2022) Following a month away from the Super Late Model scene, Doug Drown returned to action - armed with a new Swartz racecar - on Saturday night, September 17 at Hilltop Speedway in Millersburg, Ohio! Doug fought brake issues early in the evening and was not able to record a qualifying lap for the 'Holmes Tire Late Model Invitational.'

After making repairs to his new-look #12 machine, Doug blasted from the back of his heat race to finish fourth prior to securing a victory in his B-Main. The Wooster, Ohio ace then started the 40-lap headliner from the outside of the eighth row and proceeded to put on a show. Doug was able to pick off a total of fourteen competitors during the contest to land in the runner-up position behind only $5,000 victor Freddie Carpenter! Doug Drown Heads to Florence for $75,000 North/South 100
(August 14, 2022) The 2022 campaign for the Doug Drown Racing (DDR) team continued from August 11-13 in the 40th Annual 'North/South 100' at Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. Following a rain-out on Thursday night, a $5,000 to win preliminary event took place at the Cincinnati-area venue on Friday evening. Doug Drown timed in eleventh quickest in Group A during qualifying prior to placing seventh in his heat race. After starting the 25-lap sprint from the outside of the tenth row, Doug was unfortunately an early retiree in the contest and was officially paid for a twenty-sixth place showing.

Once Saturday rolled around at the 1/2-mile oval, all eyes at Florence Speedway were fixated on the whopping $75,000 top prize in the 'North/South 100.' Doug was slated to roll off deep in his heat race and ultimately decided to not unload his #12 machine. Therefore, the Wooster, Ohio ace was unable to transfer into the 100-lap crown jewel headliner that was won by Jonathan Davenport. After starting third on the grid in the 25-lap headliner, Doug was able to move up to second during the contest to secure an impressive runner-up performance behind only $1,000 winner Ryan Markham! Doug Drown Makes Rare Trip to Fairbury for $50k PDC
(July 31, 2022) The Doug Drown Racing (DDR) team made the long trek to Fairbury Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois on July 29-30 for the annual running of the 'Prairie Dirt Classic.' The World of Outlaws Case Construction Late Model Series once again presided over the two-day extravaganza and a whopping $50,000 top prize - plus lap money - was up for grabs. On Friday night during preliminary action with 81 cars on hand, Doug Drown timed in seventeenth quickest in Group B during qualifying before winding up sixteenth in the final rundown of his $3,000 to win semifeature. When the PDC resumed on Saturday evening, Doug advanced up to tenth in his B-Main, but was not able to transfer into the 100-lap headliner that was ultimately won by Brandon Sheppard. Doug Drown Racing Earns $3,000 for First Win of 2022!
(July 24, 2022) Doug Drown, of Wooster, Ohio, picked up his first checkered flag of the 2022 racing season on Saturday night, July 23 at Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio! The Renegades of Dirt Late Model Tour presided over the annual 'Hans and Don Gross Memorial' and Doug started off the evening by posting the quickest lap overall in qualifying. Following a triumph in the fast dash, Doug started the 30-lap headliner from the pole position. He then grabbed the point on lap 18 of the contest and paced the field for the final eight circuits to bag the $3,000 payday ahead of a top five that included runner-up J.R. Drown Eighth in Prelim; Fourteenth in $30k Freedom 60
(July 4, 2022) Doug Drown Racing (DDR) invaded Muskingum County Speedway near Zanesville, Ohio on July 2-3 for the running of the 'Freedom 60,' which was sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. On Saturday night during preliminary action, Doug Drown stopped the clock nineteenth fastest overall during the qualifying session and later placed eighth in his $3,000 to win preliminary feature. When action resumed in front of a packed house on Sunday evening, Doug grabbed the second transfer spot through the B-Main and later rolled off from the outside of the tenth row in the $30,000 to win headliner. Doug Drown Competes in Firecracker 100 at Lernerville
(June 26, 2022) The #12 team made their way to the storied Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania from June 23-25 for the 16th edition of the 'Firecracker 100.' The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned the lucrative mega-event for the very first time and 54 competitors piled into the pit area at the Keystone State speedplant to do battle in the three day extravaganza. On Thursday night in a $6,000 to win preliminary event, Doug Drown ran sixth in his heat race and eleventh in his B-Main. In a similar $6,000 to win show on Friday evening, Doug placed sixth in his heat race and fifth in his B-Main.

When Saturday rolled around at Lernerville Speedway, a huge crowd assembled to witness who would go home with the whopping $50,000 top prize in the 'Firecracker 100' grand finale. Doug ran fifth in both his heat race and his B-Main prior to finishing sixth in the 'Uncle Sam 30' for non-qualifiers. Unfortunately, the Wooster, Ohio ace was unable to transfer into any of the three features during his stint at Lernerville. Drown Enters Lucrative Eldora Million and Dirt Late Model Dream
(June 12, 2022) The most lucrative stretch of Super Late Model racing during the year took place from June 8-11 at the famed Eldora Speedway and Doug Drown was in the pit area at the Rossburg, Ohio facility to compete in both the 'Eldora Million' and the 'Dirt Late Model Dream.' Following a total washout on Wednesday night, the entire 'Eldora Million' extravaganza was held on Thursday at the 1/2-mile oval. During the course of the daytime preliminary event, which shelled out a $12,000 paycheck, Doug placed sixth in his stacked heat race and eighteenth in his B-Main. In the nightcap that paid a whopping $1,002,022 to the winner, Doug ran twelfth in his heat race and was unable to transfer into his consolation event.

When the weekend rolled around at the "Big E," all focus in the pit area and in our sport quickly turned to the annual running of the 'Dirt Late Model Dream.' In the $12,000 to win preliminary show on Friday evening, Doug finished tenth in his heat race and seventh in his B-Main. With a $128,000 top prize on the line on Saturday in the 'Dirt Late Model Dream,' Doug placed ninth in his heat race and sixteenth in his B-Main. Doug Drown Battles Lucas Oil Foes During Historic 100 Weekend
(June 5, 2022) Doug Drown Racing (DDR) kicked off a busy month of June at the sprawling West Virginia Motor Speedway, as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned the 'Historic 100' at the Mineral Wells, West Virginia speedplant. On Friday night, June 3 in the $15,000 to win opener, Doug Drown placed fifth in both his heat race and his B-Main to earn the inside of the eleventh row for the start of the 30-lap feature event. At the end of the contest, Doug was credited with a twentieth place showing on the monster 5/8-mile oval.

At WVMS on Saturday evening, June 4 in the weekend finale, which boasted a whopping $50,000 top prize, Doug grabbed the third transfer spot through his stacked heat race and later rolled off from the outside of the sixth row in the 50-lapper. Drown Makes 2022 Season Debut in Buckeye State Doubleheader
(May 15, 2022) The Doug Drown Racing (DDR) team finally made their 2022 season debut over the May 13-14 weekend at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio and Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio. On Friday night in a $1,200 to win weekly Super Late Model program at Attica, Doug Drown lifted the lid to his campaign by timing in fourth fastest overall during the qualifying session before running second in his heat race. Doug then climbed five spots in the headliner to land on the podium in third behind only victor Ryan Missler and runner-up Devin Shiels!

At Wayne County Speedway on Saturday evening, the ULMS Series roared into the Buckeye State speedplant to preside over a $3,500 to win showdown. Doug won his heat race in preliminary action and later rolled off from the outside of the front row in the 30-lap feature. Unfortunately, the Wooster, Ohio native suffered handling woes during the race and retired early in the fifteenth finishing position.
